Hello all i wish i could start a poll but i was just wondering what kind centralized Antivirus you guys run in your networks..

Potential answers are
- Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 9.0
- Symantec AntiVirus Small Business Edition 8.0
- AVG Network Edition
etc..

IT at work uses Symantec corporate 9.0. It is reasonably easy to manage on a (very) large network in terms of updating, auditing virus detection events, etc. On the down side it runs like a dog on the lower end machines. I would definitely recommend Symantec if you are thinking about rolling out to a large network.

I have used Symantec corp 8.x and found it to be on par with 9.x, and a bit less taxing on slower machines. Still would prefer 9.x if given the choice.

Never used AVG on a network, but I have had good results with it on stand-alone machines. I rather prefer its AV engine to Symantec's, but can't speak to its manageability.

Trend Micro Server Protect on the servers, Officescan on the workstations, and Scanmail on Exchange. Good product, reasonable price, excellent support, uncomplicated licensing scheme and implementation.
