We have a website soar.acmetrading.com that
used to be soar.acmeenergy.com. The
developer wants soar.acmeenergy.com to
respond on soar.acmetrading.com. I put in a
CNAME record for soar.acmeenergy.com to
respond on soar.acmetrading.com but the site
still gives a certificate error in IE 8.

Thank you,

Do you get the certificate error when you enter soar.acmeenergy.com? If not then you need a new certificate, since the old one is published to the old domain.

Or, you could do a web redirect to your old domain, but you would have the old name in the address field of the browser and that might not be what you had planned.
