There are two common ways to share a file on a server. One is http and the other is ftp.

IIS is the most common way to use http access on a 2003 server. Did you install IIS and configure it?

Second is the way most ISP connections work. You have to open your outbound port if you can on 80 at router. Some ISP's block port 80 so you might have to use http://myaddress:8080. (8080 is a common substitute number.)

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

Thanks for your reply. However, the latter did not work. Lets take this one at a time. IIS is installed and configured. I created a virtual directory called AdPicture (all one word) and pointed to the Ad Picture directory. I gave it Read only access. On my 2003 server. Then I went to my desktop Internet browser and type in http://ip address/AdPicture/Picture name.jpg is this was suppose to work?

I also tried putting the http://ip address:8080/ad picture/picture.jpg in to the browser address and in the xml file that load the pictures into adrotator in c# .net. this did not work eather. any other thoughts. thanks Oh, i can access all my web site on the 2003 server so html is working.

Already tried http://localhost/AdPicture/Picture name.jpg

Because you're trying to access it locally.

Please send a reply, if you solved the problem !!!
