Hi,
I haven't been able to crack this problem. I have a WRK54G router which is connected to my ADSL modem and to my Server which is going to provide a VPN connection for my remote computers. The funny part about my problem is that if I connect my modem directly to the server the VPN works perfect, but unfortunantly i do need my router. At first I thought it was the router that wasn't opening port 47 or 1723 but after some forwarding and port scanning with and without the router port 1723 was open all the time and 47 was never open, but without the router it kept on working. When my remote computer tries to connect with the router all I recieve is a 721 error.
I have tried almost everything from forwarding every imaginable port to changing the VPN configuration.
I have runned out of ideas PLEASE HELLPPP!!!!

Your router has to be capable of being a VPN endpoint. Is it? If it is, you'll have to configure the router to accept incoming VPN connections and then enable port forwarding for it to work.

The ABC of WIN2k VPN
A) On router virtual server section or NAPT
Open Ports TCP 1723 UDP 500, 10701
B)Make shure Routing and Remote Access is up and running. (Use the wizard it's easy)ยด
C) Configure the VPN on the client side ther's a wizard to that too.
