I am trying to VPN from my home to my work. I am using Cisco VPN client with IPSec w/ UDP. I can successfully connect and access resources if I go through my router:
Home ===> router ==> Internet ==> work
But when I try to VPN through my Windows Server 2003 box with RRAS instead of my router, I can connect and authenticate, but I can't ping or access any of the work resources. I have no filters (inbound nor outbound) set on any interfaces. That means everything should be going through, correct? I did NOT enable the Basic Firewall on the external interface either. I have enabled NAT on the external interface. In the Services and Ports tab of the external interface, I have forwarded IKE, IKE NAT Traversal, VPN (L2TP), and VPN (PPTP) to a static address which is the address of the computer I am using to VPN. Before setting these, I could not even reach the point of being prompted for authentication. Afterwards, I could. The subnet at my home (192.168.x.x) is different from the one at work (173.x.x.x) so that is not a problem. Has anything successfully VPN'ed through RRAS? If so, how did you manage that?
