VPN Issue

I have a VPN installed, iver PPTP. Everything seems to work when connecting to computers by \\ipaddress, but will not work by \\computername. Also, I cannot browse the computers that are on the vpn. Please help!

This comes up almost daily on the Usenet Windows groups. I never have seen a solution but if you want to give it a shot research it at groups.google.com

It's a DNS issue, point you Pri DNS to your local DNS box and Add your host name into the forward zone table(s), this is not a NetBIOS issue if your running windows 2000 or better-> , but it could be if your running old 9x boxes.

I connect to my server through pptp vpn, then I run the remote desktop to the server, from the server I can run the remote desktop on any other computer at my office. works good for me-
