Hi,
Is there any way to use or assign more than 1 processor to each virtual machine in MS Virtual server?
i guess it is possible in VMware
pls guide
thanks in advanceJK

From VirtualServer help on the topic:
"Although there is no processor affinity—meaning that individual CPUs are not assigned to individual virtual machines—the maximum that you can allocate to any given virtual machine is 100 percent of one CPU. If you want to allocate the equivalent of one entire CPU to a virtual machine, specify 100 percent as its reserved capacity."
Therefore, you can't assign a specific CPU or multiple specific CPU's to a VM. You could increase the weight of some systems over others. Regardless, performance is spread between the CPU's since Virtual Server is heavily threaded.

thanks..i already read that before.
is there any method where-in i can install and configure virtual machines on a separate server than where my virtual server software is installed.
i did not find it in any site.
JK

Sure, but that would simply cause the Virtual Server to use network storage for the VHD's; it would not harnass the remote server's processors.
