I would like to use a NAS device to store the user profiles for our small business network.

The problem I am running into, is that the drive is not mapped before the profile load when a user logs in, and therefore the profile cannot be loaded.

Is there some fashion in which the NAS device could be mounted to the machine on boot and available to each and every user that logs in (ie: for profile load)?

Or

Is there some way in which the drive can be mapped before Windows attempts the profile load and therefore be available when the profile is loaded?

Although we have only a few users, they tend to eat up a lot of space in their profiles from the nature of their work.

I've considered folder redirection, but would prefer to move the entire roaming profile to a NAS device (or most likely multiple NAS devices, depending on the users' locations).

The NAS device is able to use the Active Directory tree for authentication and is part of the domain.

Thanks in advance,

Justin

You can set the NAS drive mapping as your user's home drive. This will get it to load prior to profile load.
