Hi,
At the school where I work, we are running Windows Server 2003. The domain has been running successfully for sometime but we are having trouble with users on XP machines. In order for domain users to login on a computer and for all of their settings/policies/printers to be setup we have to go into control panel on the client and add the user on every machine they are likely to use. This has been really difficult because everytime we add a new user to the domain, we then need to add them to every computer in the school. Is there any way to get round this? It would be really helpful if anybody knew of a way to add all of the users from the domain to each machine automatically? Thanks!

You're creating local accounts for them? Why do you feel you need to do that? Domain users should be able to authenticate to the Domain as long as the client machine is on the Domain. What type of error do you get when a user attempts to authenticate?
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

I think you hit the nail on the head Jennifer. These Xp boxes are not joined to the domain.
Note: you can not join Home to a domain.
Give a person a fish, they eat for a day. Suggest they internet search and they learn a skill for a lifetime.

i have create a user in the domain server, then i am logon t the client machine in this user, this user logon to the client ,but there is no any area in the client macine.

All of the machines are running Windows XP Pro - they have all been setup to logon to the domain and this appears in the box on the login screen. When the user logs in their user name and password is used from the domain, however it does not seem to login properly. When logged in, it does not map any of the shared drives, does not run the login script and other settings aren't transferred. To get round this, we have to go into control panel on each machine, add the users who are likely to use it along with the domain name - once we have done this, all of their settings are picked up. I'm just very confused why we have to do this? It seems a bit odd having to set up each user on every client machine???
