I would like to know if you can hard code in the workstation registry to which domain controller it authenticates to, I would like the user account to always hit the same DC?

Is this possible?

Not a regedit but it can be done. It would not be a good idea if your dc ever goes down.

You have to realize if the workstation and DC are in the same subnet the workstation isn't going to look any further. AD is designed to use the most available server first which should be the local one unless it is having load problems.

Here is a post and other links you can follow on the subject
