Windows 2003 changed dll search order. Previous versions of windows I believe you could bodge windows using registry key ExcludeFromKnownDlls to force apps to use their own dlls and not ones in windows.

Windows 2003 has stopped you doing this.

I URGENTLY need a way for an app (Coldfusion 5) to use a different version of msvcrt.dll than standard windows version.

Any ideas?

It's kind of a longshot but have you tryed placing the correct msvcrt.dll file in the Coldfusion folder?
