Hi

I am currently trying to setup a server to host my website from. My problem is, anyone on my network can view the site, but anyone outside of it cannot. It says page cannot be found.

I have Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. And am using IIS 6. I am behind a Linksys Router Firewall, and I have forwarded port 80 and specified that the protocol is TCP. I have also setup a static IP address by going to Network connections, clicking properties, then TCP/IP Properties.

I didn't however, setup a dynamic and static IP for the router when I forwarded port 80. I setup a static IP through windows, but not when I logged onto my router to forward ports. (It did have a place where you can set that up from there as well) Should I do that too? If so, maybe kind of explain how to do that correctly?

One other thing when I forwarded the ports, it said port range, and I selected port 80 to 80, then I selected TCP, then I entered my IP where it says IP address.

I have Linksys router model BEFW11S V.2

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don't know what else to do. There must some kind of fix to this
Thanks!

Do you have a static IP assigned by your ISP? If not, you will need a router that supports dynamic DNS.

I do not have a static IP assigned by my ISP. I used IPconfig /all and used the info from there and entered it in the TCP/IP properties. My router does support Dynamic DNS but haven't tryed that yet. Seems too complicated.

The router is not going to support DNS at all, in the way you're referring to.

Who is your ISP? Many ISPs block incoming port 80. I would see if that is the case before tearing your hair out trying to fix your local setup.

Yeah. My ISP blocks port 80, and their IP's are Dynamic. I did get my FTP server running though. Thanks for the help
