Travan not working...weird issues

Odd problem...
Travan backup drive worked beautifully under Tapeware, but now we get an error saying "The system is waiting for a response from you".
So..I attempted to set this up under standard MS Backup. The only option I get for the Travan is New Media...not overwrite, used, etc.
