In a windows server 2003 domain, I often get a
system log (error) from various machines that
it believes it is the master browser for the
domain.

Why it happens and can I stop it? following is
the error log:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MRxSmb
Event Category: None
Event ID: 8003
Date: 6/2/2009
Time: 9:42:04 AM
User: N/A
Computer: CONTROLLER1
Description:
The master browser has received a server
announcement from the computer 4SYS7 that
believes that it is the master browser for the
domain on transport NetBT_Tcpip_{264C538A-
AA53-4EA0-87C. The master browser is
stopping or an election is being forced.

This is normal behavior. There is nothing to be concerned about. You should leave it alone.
