Basically here is what I need to know, on server #1 is operational and used every day. On it we have installed a list of programs (word, excel, etc). We through folder redirection build their start menus. They can use any program just fine.

On the new server #2, we have loaded the server 2003 OS, Terminal Services, and a secondary domain controller. When a user logs in they get the redirected programs from the server #1 in their start menu, however, the new server does not recognize the network path. What needs to be done on server #2 to allow these programs to be run from the server #1. Or is this not possible and we need to install all the same list of programs on server #2.

Any help or advice is appreciated.

MIKE

To all who are willing to help, i sincerely thank you with greatest gratitude.

Recently all my family members are returning, some completed their studies and so... there is a need to expand use of computers and a terminal service will definitely be one of the solutions for application sharing.

I have tried searching informations on web but to no avail. Can anyone explain what will i need to setup the service besides Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition or any good links that might help.

Thanks guys
DES

Mike,
you definately need to reinstall all the apps required by your TS users on server 2. Just because you have folder redirection does not mean you can share installed programs. Be sure to follow the TS install steps before installing apps:

change user /install

For MS Office look up the install instring before attempting installation.
