Alright, I am running Server 2003 with terminal services installed. I have it established that when I press the power button on the thin client it connects and logon to the server. Thats no problem.

What I want to happen is when I disconnect from the server by selecting logoff I want it to shutdown the thinclient. This way the user of the client machine has no access to the connection settings of the thinclient.

I was thinking I would be able to use a log off script on the thinclient to shut it down by using user policies but I can find any documentation telling me how to do this.

Please help.

Load Group Policy Editor. Go to User Config/Windows Settings/Scripts. Look at Logoff Scripts. Should be what you need. Just include a shutdown command to run on the remote client.
