I manage a domain and I have as FSMO a server running windows 2000 server.
Recently We bougt a server, that now act as terminal server, via CITRIX presentation server 4.0 (on windows server 2003)..At the moment we are exploitinf the trial terminal server licenses (120gg of time), but even if we have 20 regular CAL managed by the FSMO the last mentioned server keeps giving messages saying that he cannot find any terminal service license server.(he wants 2003 CALs!!)..SO I bought 10 windows 2033 CALs...Question : how do I proceed in installing these CALs : keep in mind that I have a windows 2000 server as FSMO , with 20 windows 2000 terminal server license in it (useless!!! , they say)...and another domain controller running windows 2003 server ...Do I have to move the role of license server (terminal) from FSMO to the domain controller running 2003???? And if YES
How do I do It?????Help please my trial CAL's are expiring!!!
TIA

What does FMSO have to do with Terminal Services?
Please help survivors of Hurricane Katrina...err...Rita. Starting to lose track...

FSMO is also the license server as far as the TS CALs are concerned. At the moment we have
20 windows 2000 terminal server TS CAL(old licenses, bought with the old terminal server (CITRIX on windows 2000 server))The present terminal server (CITRIX on windows 2003 server, on a brand new machine) claims that he cannot find a license server, and , for now , is using the temporarily builtin 5 TS CAL
that will expire in 120 days...(80 now!!)He does not recognize the the above mentioned license server....
What can I do ???
TIA

I'm very confused...
Is FSMO the computer name of the license server?
FSMO is the term for role holders for Active Directory domain controllers. (Scheme Master, Domain Naming Master, Primary Domain Controller Emulator, RID Master, Infrastructure Master)

No FSMO is not the computer name...
I mean that the server which acts as FSMO ( for role holders for Active Directory domain controllers, Scheme Master, Domain Naming Master, Primary Domain Controller Emulator, RID Master, Infrastructure Master)IS ALSO the license server as far as the TS CAL ( terminal server CAL) are concerned.Aries
