Hi All,

I have just upgraded my Pc to Windows Server 2003 Standard.

I have got a Sound Blaster Audigy Platium Sound Card, and it wont seem to work under 2003.

I called creative, and they said they would send me out a driver cd, so i thought this is good.

It arives, I stick it in, and about 30 seconds into the Install i get a error (man.reg - not 100% sure if that was the message, i know it had man and .rg in it)

so i press ok, and keep going, then a little further in i get another error message (SBload.reg) so i press ok, and continue.

It installs everything, and i restart.

When i log in, i get error message after error message, saying the card is not there, etc.

So i try opening the programs, and nothing happens.

So i try running it in Compatability Mode, and that still does not work.

So i restart again, and once again get all the error messages, and nothing will load.

I then call creative, and they say to me that the cd they sent me was for XP and that there are no plans for Drivers under server 2003.

This is just crazy!

So now when ever i start up my PC i get Registry error messages, and other error messages.

I used to run this computer on XP, but now i neeed Server 2003 becasue it hosts both Websites, and my Internet Radio Station.

I need this card back in working order, it runs my Web stream.

Thats what i payed $400 for!!!

Does anyone have any ideas on what i can do?

I am really in the need of help.

When i go into Device Manager, it says that there is an Audighy Platium Card there and its working fine.

If i go into Volume Control, i get EMU10k x Audio.

I dont know how that is my Audigy card!!!

Thanks for your time,

Michael Matthews.

That is weird, I have Win2003 and Audigy Card (1) and I downloaded the last drivers of Creative site and works perfectly, but I suggest that you change of slot card or only install the card alone, I have problems booting with my modem card installed I suppose maybe a IRQ conflict or any incompatibilty.

Another tip, you must desactivate first the onboard sound chip if you motherboard have it.

Try these drivers from the following website. These drivers kicks the pants off of Creatives Audigy drivers. By the way the EMU10kx you see is the chipset the Audigy uses so that is correct. Creative makes some of the best audio cards but their driver development team are the lamest i've seen. http://kxproject.lugosoft.com

you have to enable windows audio in services first
then reinstall your sound card drivers
