Gang,
I need some advice on software management. I have a client that has nothing documented, and software is just thrown about. I have no clue what is installed, and what is not. (1) Is there an application that will scan machines and get software keys back? (2) Is there any applications that i can keep in a database by machine or some other peramiters that i define? Background: coming from non-protfit, so i am use to Open lic, or E-lic...thanks.

Cheers!!!

Try Belarc. But this only doesnt it on a per PC basis and is a free download. If you want a domain audit you would need to invest in an application like Keseya.

Jennifer SUMN - Domain setup.

But i am also looking for a way to store software and their lic. Right now i am using a Excel sheet, somewhat like a database off all software.

When new software comes in i enter Name and Serial then the machine i install on. Does anyone have any pointers to manage software and lics?

thank you.
Cheers!!!

If you want a database, use Access. :) Try one of the Inventory management templates.
