I have the following problem: I must to put in place POP3 and smtp services on a 2003server . The DNS (for example www.m3.com) is recorded on register.com where the Domain manager has Domain Alias: mail.m3.com points to m3.com and the MX Record Host Name Priority Mail Server
m3.m3.com X-HI mail.m3.com
(the server has name m3). Moreover I have added the IP to smtp that is same of IIS. Using IIS consol I have assigned as local default mail.m3.com and like custom default pop3.m3.com (this name assigned using POP3 console). Using POP3 console I have created a mail box but sending an email I have the following error:
It is impossible to connect to mail server. Password not accepted . Account: 'mega', Server: 'mail.m3.com', Protocol: POP3, Server answer: '-ERR Logon Failure', gate: 110, (SSL): No, server Error : 0x800CCC90, error number : 0x800CCC92

Sending an email from an other mailbox I have the error: Final-Recipient: rfc822; mega@m3.com
Action: Failed
Status: 5.1.1 (bad destination mailbox address). What actions have I to do to fix? Thanks.

Server answer: '-ERR Logon Failure',
and
Status: 5.1.1 (bad destination mailbox address).

looks like the mailbox "mega" does not exist on your server. Are you sure this mailbox exists, and that it is named "mega"?
