Hi,
I have a Windows 2003 server as domain controller, and when I login from XP Pro clients, it takes 2-3 minutes to get authenticated by the server, I found out it’s a DNS issue from some posts and they suggest using the ip address of the server as the primary DNS for clents to avoid slow logon , my questions is: If I specify the Local IP of the server(Windows SBS 2003)as the primary DNS on client(XP Pro), will the clients be able to browse the internet, cos i have a router which am using as a switch and is configured to provide the DNS address, for now i can't relay on the router b'cos, i don't have the DSL yet.Once i get the DSL(Dynamic) should I use the DNS values from the ISP on server and clents or still have the clients(XP Pro)use the serevr ip as DNS.My concern is the clients should be able to go online and have a quick login.
Thank you much
Desi
