I am having trouble with my network consisting of a 2003 server, and 12XP clients. The connection between the clients and the server is extremely slow!! I am currently running a router which is connected to a 16 port switch and I have even disconnected all but one xp client and the speed is still extremely slow. Please give me some ideas...

THANK YOU

Do you mean that the connection is slow to respond or that it is slow while transnfering files (say, it is not transfering files at 10Mbps or 100Mbps)?

If the thing is that the response time is slow, it could be the dns settings. Try setting the clients dns setting to point directly to the server.

If the problem is that the transfer of files is slow, then try switching the switch, maybe you got a bad switch.
