CPU/Ram: PIII 1000/1gb Ram
Comment:

I am using a Laptop (PIII 1000 & 1GB Ram) with Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition installed. I have visited http://www.msfn.org/win2k3 (which I must say is rather excellent) and have done all the bits mentioned to make it work more like a workstation but whenever I come to shutdown it goes through the process and then hangs with a blank screen. The only way to turn off is via the Laptop switch. When rebooting there are no errors so the OS thinks it had shutdown.

Any Ideas on this one?

F.Y.I. It also had the same problem before the workstation conversion so isn't anything to do with that.

Thanks to all

Unfortunately I had to use the WinXP drivers. I doubt they will make the drivers due to it being a laptop. Looks like I will have to put up with it, cheers

I have it on a Dell laptop and I haven't had any problems like that with it. I didn't have to find any new drivers for it either. Everything I needed was installed with Windows.

powermanagement?

check ACPI in bios, but i can happen that u then can reinstall the lappi.
if u change from acpi off to acpi on the pc reconfigure the main system.
irq will be changed so the system can get problems.
