He is the problem, I have set up a file server at work, and I need to have a shared directory on D: which is not shared. This shared directory needs to allow users to create there own shared sub-directory so that only they have access to it or if they want to share it they can. We login to a domain and the file server is also on the domain. please let me know if this would work or how to go about it.
Create the shared folder under D: go into Shared permissions give everyone full control, Under Security or NTFS permissions remove everyone and replace with Authenticated Users and give them list only.

Create a folder that contains the shares. Then, in that folder, create a shared (admin) folder for each user. You will then have to set Modify file and share permissions on each individual folder. Don't give Full Control, as that allows the users to change permissions as well.
You should also read up on file and share permissions to obtain a basic understanding of same.
Life is more painless for those who are brainless.
