Hi People

We are trying to give all users a central start menu and have tried forlder redirection and setting up a shared profile folder which all users share. The problem is when a user logs it is adding the contents of the all users start menu on the local machine as well as what we place on the server share. Is there a way of ommiting the all users shortcuts from when a domain user logs in?

Many Thanks
Paul

You'd need to wipe out the Default User Start menu and the All User Start menu on each and every workstation if you wanted to do redirection, and not have that stuff show up.

Your best bet is to probably come up with a script that cleans up the Start menu upon login and sets what you want. Or maybe you can tweak the registry and change the path of those Start menus to the same network location? I'm sure this won't be supported by Microsoft though.

Or you could simply create a folder on the Start menu that's a shortcut to a Start menu stored on the network. I mean, after all, the Start menu is just a collection of fancy shortcuts...
