Hi,

I'm new to this and trying to setup windows standard server 2003 as a webserver only (I have another win server 03 setup already as a fileserver and domain name server running through a hardware firewall with the IP address configured to allow).

I used the setup wizard to chose the application server role and installed IIS and setup a website test webpage but cannot see it. I also went through the microsoft list but couldn't get it to work: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323358

Is there something I may have missed installing? Do I need to have Domain name server and Active Directory running on the webserver?

thanks,
hgc

Try typing in the server name in a browser on another computer. For example, if your server name is Monkey1, then type that into a browser on network computer.

You might also need to creat an Index.htm page in your wwwroot directory. Otherwise there wont be a primary page to show up.

Best of luck.
