Hi all,
I was asked by my boss to establish a computer where all our colleagues (50users in different departments) will be logging into it, access their data and access internet from that machine.

What are the basic requirements on hardware side and software side ?
how do i can do that
Please reply me at the earliest
Thanks in advance.

What are the users using now to access their data? What you describe doesn't sound any different than a regular networked workstation on the internet. Nothing special is required given what you have told us.

Hi,
At present all the users are using their own hdd's. Now all the user's data should be in one machine with different folders and with security permissions..

Of course I do agree. But, need direction where to start and how.

Hope am clear.

You are describing two different things. Your last post is about setting up a server. The first was about accessing the internet from one station.

Is this the one and same question: how to route internet to the workstations from the server?

Nope not clear at all. But I can take a guess.

Looks like you are doing peer to peer networking [all users data on local hard drives]

You first must have a central server where users data is stored [as well as backed up]. Recommendation is a domain controller.

Then with the workstation joined to the domain and use of drive mappings the internet station user has access to their files as well as the internet.

Sounds to me, you are looking for a proxy server....this can be done with RRAS...make sure the server has 2 NICs in it and one can be the Internet NIC and the other the internal NIC and configure RRAS on the server with a basic firewall. But not many people do this as this can be done much easier with a hardware router/firewall depending on your needs.
