Hello Guys,
I'm new to networking and Win2k3. I need to setup a small office network of 25 PCs with one of them running on Win2K3 as the Server. All 24 PCs are currently running on Win XP. I need to add another one as the server running on Win2k3 and network them up.
Now, my question is :
1.How can I make sure that all the users can only log on to the PCs through the server(meaning users will not be able to individually log on to a PC)?
2. How to restrict users from downloading or installing games on the PCs?
3.How to restrict users from changing any system settings or configurations ?
See...I told u, I was new to networking.
Pls Help...
Thank You

1. You create an Active Directory integrated Domain. Then, users will have to authenticate to the DC (domain controller) to log into the domain.
2. Through the use of Groups, ACL's and GPO's.
3. Same as #2
Since you're new and asking these questions may I recommend you get a good book on administering a Windows Domain and/or do some research on the web. There's a lot to know and more than I or most anyone else will want to try to tell you via this forum.

you might also consider taking some classes as it sounds like you might be getting in over your head. You might also consider bringing in a consultant to assist because if you dont know the answers to these relatively simple questions what will happen when you have an office full pf people trying to work and bitching at you when they cannot. Not criticizing you, just trying to maybe save your job as they might get someone else if they lose confidence in you.

You should visit http://www.tricerat.com/ they offer a free ebook guide to "Windows Server 2003 Terminal Services".
