Hello there!
I just got an old server up and running with Windows Server 2003 integrated into my network at home. It is connected to the net via a Zyxel Prestige 650R DSL Router.
I only have a dynamic IP assigned by my ISP. The router has a Dynamic IP Updating function, which updates my IP when it changes at www.dydns.org, where I opened up an account.
Now my question is, how can I set up a POP3 Server with that machine? Ports 25 and 110 are being forwarded by the Router to the internal IP of the server. I already activated the POP3 configuration in Windows Server 2003 and gave as server name the address of my DynDns.org account (which is something like username.dyndns.org). A few test mailboxes also have been opened. When I'm sending mails to something@myusername.dydns.org they won't arrive. I suppose that I am missing something. SMPT, FTP, and HTTP works perfectly. Could someone guide me with the set up of my POP3 server, what am I missing, what do I need to do?
Thank you very much. Your help is highly appreciated!
Greetings,
RSierra

You need to set up an MX record on your dns so that your mail knows what server it should go to for delivery
