Greetings,

I hope I haven't missed an obvious answer to this question, but I wasn't really sure how to search for this problem. I did my best, and wasn't really able to come up with a solution. Anyway, I apologize if I'm repeating a question that has already been asked.

I just setup a new domain in our network on a new server. The server software is Windows 2003 standard. Our old server also runs Windows 2003 standard, but I removed the domain controller role from that server, and made it a member of the new domain.

The old server is now going to be used primarily for sharing files. My problem is, when I go to set the permissions for the shared folders, I can not see domain objects or users, it simply shows me what's available for the local users on the server.

Is there a simple solution? **crosses fingers** Thank you.

Regards,
Tommy Brents

In case I was too vague, here's another decent description of the problem I'm having. Unfortunately, no solution is included. :(

I discovered that this is a DNS issue. I had DNS still running on the old server, and it was causing a problem. I removed it, and pointed the DNS [of the old server] to the new server, and it fixed the problem right up.
