Comment:

I have a server setup at home and I want to be able to access the session that is at home when on other networks through Remote Desktop Connection. Is this possible or will it always just start a new session?

Thanks,

n0v1ru5.

Remote Assistance can do what you want, by being able to take control of your session at home.

Remote Desktop will start a new session each time you connect.

It took me a while to get this working because I'm using a Workgroup and not a domain, anyway I got it working now but there is one problem. Does someone always have to be at the server to accept the request for help, because I want to be able to control it when away from home.

Thanks.

Create a new Remote Desktop Connection shortcut on your desktop of the computer your remoting from. Right click and select "Properties" of the shortcut. In the "Target" field, and this to the end of the string "/console". Save, then try using that shortcut to connect to your server.

Assume that I already did an Internet search.
