Hello gang,
I am posting to find out what the best way to transfer network apps and databases from an old RAID 5 box to a new one. Both new and old servers have same RAID config but let's face it, Windows backup just don't cut it when you need excact settings transferred. I was also considering Ghosting each drive, but I'm afraid that won't give me the integrity on the data files. Anyways, any help is appreciated.

Raid not supported. Ghosting to different hardware is also not recommended. You can't "transfer" apps. They have to be installed from scratch on the new server. Than you can xfer - backup/restore the data.

Acronis True Image 8.0 Enterprise Server for Windows will do what you want but it's $1000.00. I use the $50 version instead of Ghost on workstations. It makes perfect drive images "on the fly"
