I have a very weird problem with our Windows 2003 Server. We are drastically running out of space on the C:, even though it has a 8Gb partition. The only programs installed and running on this drive are Exchange 2003 and Veritas Backup. But I have Both exchange and VERITAS running on the D drive which has a Total of 198gb(with 96GB being available)
I installed a program (freeware) called Tree size to see where the disk space was being utilized. There seems to be 3998MB worth of files in the root see that I cannot account for. I cannot find even when I unable viewing system files and hidden files. The page file is currently set to let windows manage on both drives C and D. What’s even more interesting is that I had 1.89 GB available on the C drive last week. I added the RAM from 2 to 4 GB and my disk space disappeared. Its like once I increased the RAM, the Page file grew too.
I recently started working here so before I start changing anything. I just wanted to know if anyone else has come across these. Thanks
To Be or Not To be? I Just need an Answer

What size is the pagefile? Are the Veritas backups from the clients stored on your D drive or your C drive? If you're running Exchange, the users mailboxes can get pretty large. 8 Gig is not near enough space. You may want to consider repartitioning to allocate more space to C.
Life's more painless for the brainless.

Fix the Issue
All i did was stop paging on Cand set paging on D which has og 96GB free
Rebooted and Viola... 3.87GB of space in the primary Partition C:To Be or Not To be? I Just need an Answer

8 GB is NEARLY enough space. I usually recommend 12-16. The pagefile size should be equal to 1.5x RAM - so if you increase RAM, the pagefile grows too, especially if Windows is managing it.
I would suggest for future reference, you have a read over my web page on Boot drive size - http://www.lwcomputing.com/tips/sta...
