I have a problem with a server running SBS 2003. It suddenly is very slow. The only thing that changed is I replaced some old PC's in the Active Directory with new ones running Windows 7. Also a new Autocad licence server was installed. The main things that the server is doing is :
-Small Business Server Exhange
-10 users
-File Hosting (sometimes it is so slow that it takes 10 minutes to open a small excell file)Booting speed is ok, after a fresh boot it runs fine, but after some time it starts to lag.
CPU (Intel Xeon) is 20% usage max & Memory (4GB) 50% usage so that's not the problem.
What could this be ? Any help is much appreciated.

You might want to beef up the amount of RAM in this server. 4 GB's isn't a lot and considering you're running exchange, using it as a file server, and have Autocad on it, that's a fair load. More RAM should help improve the performance of the server. It matters not how straight the gate,

I am the captain of my soul.***William Henley***
I understand that, but it's only using about 2GB on average. It's not really Autocad which is running on it , but merely a license server.
Changing the pcs will have no effect. I would disable the license server to see if that makes a speed difference. Make sure to run disk cleanup and defrag the servers drive.
