Hello everyone!

I am a newbie to networking in General, but I do have webserver running on a Windows 2003. I am getting higher traffic on my website day by day, so now am starting to get worried that my server will end up crashing! So am thinking of buying a new server and then Load balance...But I was wondering, does any router work to network both servers? For example I have an extra DLINK router I used to use for my private network. If no, can you tell me what will I need? I did try to search around but didnt find anything..

Thanks

MeenXo

NLB works by assigning a virtual IP address to the NLB cluster. Therefore, you must forward port 80 and any other required ports from the internet (maybe 443 for SSL if you're doing that) to the Virtual IP.

I have no idea why you're talking about installing another router.

You will need two NIC's in each server, one for LAN access, the other for communication between the NLB cluster members. Cluster communication should be isolated from the rest of your network.
