Server doesnt restart/shutdown corr

I have installed Service Pack 1 on Windows 2003 Server and everytime i try to shutdown or restart the computer it does not. It just hangs at the "Windows is shutting down" screen. I have to unplug the server and plug it back in for it to start working again. I have installed service pack 1 when i first got the server -> it was a clean install. Is there anything i should know that microsoft didnt say??? Thank you for any support

I would check Power Options in Control Panel and look for an APM tab. If there is one, click on it and enable APM and see if that doesn't cure the problem.

there is no APM tab in Power Options. I thought it was sp1 too but i was thinking there was something i could do without taking off service pack 1. I will probably take it off. Thank you for your responses
