I am wanting to connect my server to my router with a wireless modem. that way i can run my server in my office without runnning cable to/from my router. the server sees the connection and i have tried it with wep and without wep. my router ssid is selectable and when i say connect, it only comes back with message that network is available. no ip address is assigned.

Assign it an ip address. Some routers/wireless devices don't like assigning ips. So manually set it for a network addy
