I am having problems shutting down server 2003. It stays on the saving your settings screen FOREVER and I have to hard boot. Any ideas why or how to fix this?

Does the server have Exchange on it? And when you say forever, how long do you wait?
If the server does have Exchange on it, a reboot can take a VERY VERY long time. The best way to shorten this is to stop the Microsoft Exchange System Attendant before shutting down the box.
If the server does not have exchange on it, it could be another service not shutting down. Try going into all the services and try manually stopping them. You may find the one causing the problem.

Yes it has exchange running. I have waited 30 mins and still not shutting down. I will try stopping the exchange. Thanks a ton.
