i have recently installed server 2003 as my DC in a mixed client environment(win 95/98/200/xp),I have setup the home directory path and a logon script to map a network drive for my test user. all conmputers will logon to the network however my 95/98 pcs will not map the drives ie it is ignoring the scripts, any ideas out there would be much appreciated

All default Scripts for Group Policies are written for Windows 2k OS. Try Upgrading Your Clients to Windows 2000 Professional.

I have had Win98 workstations log on and run a traditional login script. Depending on the full name of the server the script(s) should go in:-

C:\WINNT\SYSVOL\sysvol\server's full name\Scripts

One thing to remember is Win 9x clients will not run a .cmd script. Use the .bat extension if you aren't already.

just to add to maurice and chris, put that script on the dc which assumes the role as pdc emmulator.
