I'm trying to find an easy way to change the ownership of multiple files/folders on our Windows 2003 server, and then apply the permissions of the containing folder to that file/folder. To do this manually, I first have to change ownership to the administrators group, then I have to uncheck the "Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object" option and select remove to remove all permissions, then I have to re-select the "Allow inheritable permissions from the parent to propagate to this object" and apply that to reset the permissions to parent folder. I am not an experienced IT person, I just got stuck with the duty because I know more about pc's than anybody else here.
