So I got my server 2003 with clients logged into the domain I setup on the server. I got DHCP and DNS on there. However clients cant go out to the internet and take a long time or under alot of circumstances cant connect to the internet. I got a router off of my cable modem and i disables DHCP on it and on my server I setup DHCP & DNS. In my forwarders tab i setup the ip to my ISP DNS so that it can resolve such queries such as www.yahoo.com <---- for example. Clients still take a long time to login to the domain still and what pointer do i need in my DHCP or in my DNS so that clients can login to the server quicker. It takes about 5 to 7 mins usually for clients to login to the domain. What does this sound like? What else should i configure to have clients login to my domain faster?
This is real basic im just going cable modem to router ..... Router to server 2003 .......
All my clients are connected to my network through the router and DHCP is disabled on the router in hopes that my server 2003 can service the request
