I am attempting to create my own certs for a web server that I host. The problem is that firefox raises an error about my signature not being trusted. "The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown." This does not occue in IE.
I used this guide: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299...
I'm open for any suggestions that may cause this error to go away.
Thanks,Jordan

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10

jefro, thanks for links they were a good read. However, these only apply to Firefox 3. We have clients that use a variety of browsers including IE and Safari. I have also been researching the issue a bit more and I think that our solution may be a a Rootstore chaining program such as one found here: http://www.globalsign.com/
I am currently waiting to hear back from the company to find out if it will be a cost effective solution for us.
This is off topic but how is "event viewer" the top 10 of anything? I find it to be the worst system logger of any operating system. I almost always have to look up Microsoft specific error codes on third party websites....
Again, thanks for the help jefro.

I think one of the links had a similar solution .
Don't know why FF2 or Safari does that???
Not a complete and accurate list by any means. That may be so. Since you used it, it must have been of value. I find it very useful for a first thing to look at. It gives me a clue which way to go, but almost never a solution.
