Can i schedule a daily shutdown at given time and reboot auto at given time using windows 2003server
thanx

thanx for ur comments, i tryed typing powercfg, but the screen just flickers and comes back to desktop, also how do i configer the apm and where is it located exactly
thanx

I tried that too and it just flickered.
I would do this.
1.) Configure the bios to start every morning at 6:30 am (example)
2.) Write a batch file (fairly easy) that will shotdown the computer.
3.) Create a scheduled task to execute that batch file every morning at 6:00 amI do this on a couple of client machines that like to be rebooted freshly every morning-
"i woke up this morning and all of my stuff was stolen and replaced with exact duplicates."

Thanx for all the comments, but I found a much simpler way to do it.
For auto start of your pc go bootup into bios setting and scroll to power management in here Enable RTC and then set the day/month, and time u want ur pc to start (note: for everyday set value to 0 ) and exit saving ur settings.
This will only work on ATX power supply. For Auto shutdown, Download shut off (free software) at www.downloads.com (type in shut off in search) install this.
Here u can set the day (everyday) and time u want to shut off the pc.Once u set both the pc will start and auto shutdown at desired times.
I have set this on 2 pc's one is xp and othere server2003.It works a treat

Another option that doesn't require messing with bios settings- write a batch file using the "shutdown /r" command to restart the computer and schedule it using Windows Scheduler. There are many parameter options with the "shutdown" command. Just type "shutdown /?" to see a list and figure out what's best for you.

i want also to ask, if it possible to setup a wink23 (SBS) server to auto shutdown after a schedule backup finished, we dont have a 3rd party bak up software , we noly use msbackup
