Hi,

I have a bizar problem in sbs2003
I've replaced a bunch of old pc's by new ones
i've put these pc's in the network
and deleted the old names in the sbs active directory
now all the new pc's are running on the sbs2003 without any problem except for one thing
when i try to use the remote web workplace
the popup list is there with all the new copmuternames however when I try to connect i get a system error saying that i need to check if the computer I connect to is on and is member of the sbs server
the few pc's i have not removed from the network however are connectable

ideas anyone?

Did you join the PC's in question to the domain?

well yes
they are all part of the domain
when i use the sbs function server\connectcomputer
it replies that it's not needed as the computer is already member of the domain
i assigned applications to the client computers run exchange
all sbs features are ok
except for the login in remotely using RRW
only at that point the system answers taht i should check if the computer is on and if the computer is client on the domain
which it clearly is

That is a tough one. I've only ever done one install of SBS and that was 2000 and I didn't run into any trouble so I'm afraid I can't provide you with any help other than to suggest you do some searching in microsoft's knowledge base.

That's where I'd start my search if it were me...that and google.

For those interested in the sollution,

apparantely if you join new pc's without using the server\connectcomputer for installing the new pc in the sbs network rather then just joining the pc by configuring yourself the name and network on the pc you will have all sbs features available exept the remote connection
so if you want to be sure
so first in the server management you add the new computer names
then you log ion on the new pc as administrator
use server\connectcomputer
add users and you are home free
Kind regards,
