Simple questions, when creating an RIS image, is it possible to configure a laptop with all the correct configurations and install the relevant programs, or is it preferable to get a program like Nortons Ghost. I only have 17 clients, but setting one up from scratch the way management want me to, takes a good 5-6 hours. They don't mind forking out for the most efficient product.

I use nlite + Ryanvm update pack + registry in runonce to get all the current configuration and lastest updates with my RIS.
After RIS finishing setup, the clients will be up to date with the your configuration.

We use RIS, runonce commands, ScriptIt, and VBscript and just imaged 2000+ machines fully configued for individual users in under 4 (4 day) weeks with restores (no weekends). Setup takes a while but change is easy and I make on the fly. Sysprep is not needed. This setup blows the others out of the water, and best of all it is all supported by Microsft.
I have used the others and they work great for certain tasks, RIS is very flexible and secure if you know what you are doing.
