Hello, We would like to test our disaster recovery strategy and would like to know if this will work. We want to restore the backup from one server to another server, we use tape backups in this case. Would you mind letting me know what would be the challenges we may encounter?
By the way, both servers are joined in domain. Thank you and hoping for your response.

What backup process are you using? Are the two computers identical in hardware?

I used the Windows Backup and Restore Wizard. It did not work! The new machine can only run in the safe mode. It does contain all the applications of the source computer but it runs in the safe mode only. The new machine is a different brand of hardware. I need a backup and restore software which I can use to setup my server in any machine I want. Is this possible?
