Hi all,
I have a problem when connecting from my xp to a windows 2003 server computer to use remote desktop. I have installed Terminal service in the server and I have added the user to the remote desktop group (as help states). The problem is that when I try to connect from the XP computer I keep getting the message (sorry it is a translation because the message is in spanish) -> To init a session in this remote machine, you need to have terminal server user access privileges, and it says that the "remote desktop group" has this privileges by default. Don“t know what am I doing wrong, but I think everything is Ok, could anybody help please?.

If you are just trying to remotely administer the server, uninstall Terminal Services and simply enable Remote Desktop under system properties.
in 2003, installing terminal services = in 2000 installing Terminal Services in application mode.
Enabling Remote Desktop in 2003 = in 2000 installing Terminal Services in remote administration mode.

Windows 2003 Server allows you to have 2 Remote Desktop connections by default (it's built-in, just like in WinXP). Meaning you don't need Terminal Services just to manage your server. For the user account using the Remote Desktop session, just make sure they're a member of the local Administrators group, or a member of the Remote Desktop Users group...

in terminal services configuration, under permission tab add user\groups and give them guest permission.
