Hi!

We just recently upgraded and installed Win2003 in our failover cluster. Doing great so far.

My problem is I cannot remote to any node of the cluster. I installed 2003 in one box and tried to remote connect from an xp machine, no brainer at all.

im getting this message:

"the client could not connect to the remote computer.

remote connections might not be enabled or the computer might be too busy to accept new connections. It is also possible that network problemsare preventing your connections."

what could i be missing?

thx a lot!!

a couple of things potentially;

the user(s) that you are trying to connect to should be a member of the "remote desktop users" group

each user that you want to allow to connect must be enabled to do so. On the "Terminal Services Profile" tab of the users property, there is a check box labeled "Allow logon to terminal server", this must be checked.

let me know how you make out.

hi!

thx for the reply.

we are not using terminal services. if i right click on my computer and properties. there is a tab remote desktop connection. i think it's what ms call a stripped down terminal services. ive tried to setup other win2003 machines, and selected the remote desktop option. i can immediately connect from that. just a single process.

with my nodes in the cluster, i cannot do the same..

im stumped..

if the cluster-nodes are members of a domain (and the domain controller is also windows 2003), remote administration could be disabled by a domain policy.
