Remote Desktop Connection won't wor

I'm a newbie, so please bear with me. I'm running a server with Windows Server 2003 on it. Some people have been saying that they cannot connect to the server via Remote Desktop from home. If the problem is not on the user's side, what could it be on mine?

what IP address r they using to connect to the server. r they private or public? did u enable remote connection on the server side? what router r u using. r u using any NAT? how r u connect to the internet? is the user connect to the server like this 192.168.1.1:3389.
