Comment:

I do all administration by using remote desktop and the server is physically colocated in a server hotel. Some days ago I installed the Terminal Services and then the machine rebooted and since then I can not login by RDP because it can not find the Terminal License Server? Perhaps it is not activated?

No I wonder what to do? Uninstall Terminal Services or activate the License Server?

Will I be able to use the Remote Desktop for admin if I uninstall Terminal services?

Always helps to review software information before an install.

"When you install one of the Windows Server 2003 family operating systems, Remote Desktop for Administration is installed automatically. With Remote Desktop for Administration, you can create up to two concurrent remote connections to your server for remote administration and other tasks. To use Remote Desktop for Administration, you must first enable remote connections. For more information, see Enable or disable Remote Desktop.

To use Terminal Services for multiuser application hosting, you must install the Terminal Server component using the Configure Your Server Wizard"

Did you buy TS licenses?

We have a rather expensive edition, Windows 2003 Server Enterprise R2 with 25 CALs. I thought we had the right to use more than 2 remote desktop connections for admin and therefore activated the Terminal Services. Now when I understand that we have to buy TS CALS I want to uninstall Terminal Services and only use Remote Desktop for admin (max 2 connections).

I have to break in into the server hotel and manage our server from the console.
